We’re proud to share that Alaska Airlines is now part of the BagID ecosystem, made possible through our integration with the BAGTAG platform. Together, we are shaping the future of baggage by making travel with checked bags smarter, more sustainable, and completely paperless.
This milestone is especially meaningful for BagID, as it marks our first availability in the North American market. With a trusted and forward-thinking airline onboard, we are making BagID accessible to a wider audience and setting the stage for broader adoption and continued innovation.
Why Alaska Airlines
Alaska Airlines has a long-standing reputation for digital innovation. From being the first North American carrier to sell tickets online in 1995 to pioneering internet check-in in 1999, their commitment to improving the passenger experience is well established.
Today, as a member of the Oneworld® global alliance, Alaska connects travellers to over 1,000 destinations while keeping sustainability at the core of its operations. The airline was the first in the US to remove the five biggest sources of onboard plastic waste and has championed sustainable aviation fuel since 2011. By enabling the use of electronic bag tags, Alaska continues to lead with smart, future-ready solutions.
Looking ahead
We are focused on expanding the electronic bag tag ecosystem and bringing innovation to more airlines, airports, and travellers around the world.
This is just the beginning, and we are excited for what comes next.
