The aviation industry is at the forefront of transformation; from online booking, self-check-in and advanced scanners, most aspects of air travel have been modernized the past years. Although there’s been a significant digitalization, the baggage tag – a simple, silicone covered paper tag – remains unchanged.
"BagID will change the way people travel with baggage when they fly by making bags smarter, passengers happier, airlines and airports more profitable and air travel more sustainable."

BagID was started in 2016 with the goal of creating an electronic bag tag with tracking that would streamline the travel experience when travelling with checked bags. We saw the need and opportunity to digitalize and simplify the way people travel with baggage when they fly.
The idea came after one of our founders many business trips where he experienced his expensive equipment getting mishandled and delaying his work. He thought that surely there must be a better way to travel with checked baggage to reduce the risk of this happening. And that's how BagID was born.

BagID was built on the belief that air travel should be seamless for both passengers and operators.

Transforming infrastructure
As airports are evolving, it’s time to rethink the check-in process. With electronic bag tags, we contribute to phase out manned check-in desk, enabling more automated and efficient airports where the passengers have more control. Streamlining and reducing bottlenecks makes the airports a less stressful place to be. Creating a more profitable journey for all.

Reducing lost baggage
Lost luggage isn’t just an inconvenience - it also has financial and environmental costs. Delayed or misplaced bags lead to unnecessary purchases and expenses. With a secure and highly readable electronic bag tag, the risk of mishandling is reduced, minimizing re-routing and lowering both environmental impact and costs.

More seamless travel
Imagine being able to check in both yourself and your luggage from home, then being able to bypass long check-in lines at the airport. By using an electronic bag tag like BagID 2, you’re not just simplifying your own journey – you’re also contributing to a smoother experience for other passengers.

Better customer experience
Automation doesn’t mean less care. By reducing the number of manned check-in desks, staff can be allocated to assist travelers that needs extra attention. This ensures a better and more personal experience for those who need it most, while empowering others with the tools to travel more independently.
Evolving the baggage industry
We work closely together with BAGTAG to make electronic bag tags the industry standard. We strongly believe that our combined resources and innovations will lead to more airlines, airports and passengers choosing electronic bag tags.
Through our close relationship and partnership with BAGTAG, we will continue expanding our network of airlines!
