How does your smart updates work?

Via the BagID app, you’ll receive smart updates which help you to keep updated before you even commence your journey.

- Reminders that check in is open, and that BagID is ready to transfer your baggage tags etc.
- Useful updates about flight times, delays, gate numbers etc.
-Updates that your baggage has arrived at its destination, which baggage arrivals carousel it can be collected from, or if your baggage hasn’t landed with you etc.

*For certain areas and airports with only one baggage arrivals carousel, you will not receive a notification for which baggage arrivals carousel your luggage will arrive on.

This service are subject to subscription.

How do I connect my device to the app?

Press the left button to activate the bluetooth on your BagID device for 30seconds. When the bluetooth is active the LED will blink blue for 30seconds and follow the instruction on the BagID app.

Within the 30seconds you can transfer a baggage tag, name tag or do other stuff from your phone.

Which temperatures can BagID withstand?

BagID 2 tracks everything if it is between -4 degrees celcius to +60 degrees celcius.

My BagID is not showing up in the app

Ensure that your BagID have sufficient battery and that you have activated bluetooth on your phone. BagIDs pairing mode can be activated by clicking the left button once.

Android 10 or later is required and iOS 15 or later is recommended, but not required.

How to change the image or luggage tag from my previous trip on the screen of my BagID 2?

If you want to change the image or text or your luggage tag from your previous trip on the screen of your device you can go to the BagID app and choose your device and go to the setting and choose add new image.

To reboot you BagID device click 3 times on the left button. Your device will confirm this action by beeping 2 times on a successful reboot.

Factory reset

To factory reset your BagID device click the right button 5 times (very fast) and then 3 times on the left button.

Your device will confirm this action by beeping 2 times and the welcome page will show.

Why haven't I received the activation email after registering?

Unfortunately, several mail servers have strict spam filters, which means that some emails from do not get through to the recipient. If you do not receive your activation email, this may be the case. Please check your spam folder.

How to check the battery status?

BagID 2 for Apple:

To check the battery status on your BagID 2 for Apple, you can press the right button once on your device.

BagID 2 for Samsung:

To check the battery status on your BagID 2 for Samsung, you can press the left button twice on your device.

To update the battery status on the BagID app go to BagID setting and choose update battery status.

What if the BagID 2 runs out of battery mid-flight?

The BagID 2 only uses battery when the Bluetooth is activated. The screen in itself does not use battery. If you should run out of battery during a flight, the bag tag will still show on your BagID.

BagID 2 is rechargeable and can be charged with a standard USB-C cable.

The battery lasts up to 1 year with tracking activated, and up to 2 years without tracking..

How robust is the BagID?

BagID has been designed in close collaboration with airlines and airports, and is designed to handle shock, rain and rough baggage handling.

The cover features rough edges for extra resistance against impact on the sides. The screen is made of a flexible material so that it is bendable and should not break, and the display is covered with a special designed protective glass. It is extremely resistant to scratches.

BagID has been tested by Avinor at Gardemoen airport (OSLO International airport) for verification that it can withstand rough baggage handling conditions.

Crash testing of the BagID has also been performed. The BagID was attached to the underside of a 27kg suitcase and dropped from a 1 meter height. The only registered damage from the testing was a scratch on the mounting plate. The screen was undamaged and remained fully readable.

What if the BagID falls off my luggage?

BagID is extremely unlikely to fall off your bag if it is mounted correctly.

The BagID 2 is mounted to your baggage using the attachment casing. The casing can be attached and detached, so you can switch it between different bags.

You attach an aluminum bar to the handle of your bag by tightening two velcro straps firmly. You then place the BagID inside the casing, slide it onto the bar and fasten it with a locking pin.

For extra security, also against theft, attach our TSA padlock to your device and the handle of your luggage.

If you use our padlock and have tracking activated - we will replace your device free of charge if you lose it during travel.

Can BagID 2 be charged?

Yes, BagID 2 uses a rechargeable battery. The battery can be charged with a standard USB-C cable that is included with your BagID 2 purchase.

Can I turn off my BagID device when i am not travelling?

Unfortunately, you can not turn off BagID 2 device.

The BagID device only uses battery when the Bluetooth is activated.

Serial number lookup

The serial number (S/N) is found on the back of the BagID device or you can find it on the BagID app under BagID setting and you can find the serial number on the bottom.


How accurate is the tracking?

BagID 2 uses the Apple Find My app to track your stuff. Inside the app you can see exactly where your BagID 2 is on the map, down to the actual address. The Find My network consists of hundreds of millions of iPhones, iPads and Macs around the world. They help you locate your belongings.

Does BagID 2 for Apple work with Android phones?

The tracking functionality on BagID 2 for Apple uses the Apple Find My app, which requires the latest version of iOS, iPad, or MacOS. All other functions can be used with your Android phone.

How to enable "Notify when found notifications" for my BagID for Apple?

The Apple Find My app offers a way to be notified of your BagID 2´s location when it is not with you. This feature can only be activated when your BagID 2 is not detected in your device's Bluetooth range. Its very convinient to activate when you send your baggage at the airport.

This will simply push a notification to your device(s) with an updated location when it's spotted by an Apple Find My enabled device. 

This functionality is great to activate after you have checked-in your baggage at the airport!

Can anyone else see the position of my BagID 2?

BagID 2 sends out an encrypted Bluetooth signal through devices in the Find My network. These devices then forward BagID 2’s position to iCloud. Your privacy is always 100% secured in this process. Nor Apple or BagID have the opportunity to find out where your digital bag tag is.

How do I pair BagID 2 to the Apple Find My app?

To pair the BagID 2 to the Apple Find My app open the Find My app then head over to the items fan and click the "+" button, than "Add other item" and follow the guide.

If it has gone more than 10minutes from you activated the Find My until you´ve added the BagID 2 device you need to Deactivate and Activate Find My again.

To enable the Find My functionality, hold down the left-button for more than 10 seconds and then press the right button once (while holding down the left button). The LED light will light green for three seconds.

If no iOS device pairs with the accessory within 10 minutes after Find My activation, the Find My functionality will automatically be disabled, and three beeps will be heard. Repeat the combination for turning on Find My for enabling it again.

Upon successful pairing, the Find My functionality will only be disabled upon user request as described in the next section, or with Find My factory reset.

Note: If the battery is low (below 20%), the BagID 2 will not advertise Find My functionality and cannot be paired with a device. Recharge battery.

Disable Apple Find My

To disable the Find My functionality, hold down the left-button for more than 10 seconds and then press the right button once (while holding down the left button). The LED light will light red for three seconds.

Factory reset Apple Find My

Hold down the left button for more than 10 seconds and click three times on the right button. Note that this will only factory erase Find My-related data, and the button combination only works if Find My is enabled. When factory resetting, the LED will light red for three seconds, and you will hear three beeps.

Note: Factory reset will delete all pairing information. The user must remove the BagID 2 device from the Find My app and enable Find My functionality before it can be used again

System requirements and compatibility

Tracking and Apple Find My works with iOS 14.5 or later. It also works with iPad using iPadOS 14.5 or later.

Everything else works on iOS 12 or later, and Android 10 or later.

How to enable 'Lost Mode' for my BagID 2 for Apple?

The Apple Find My app offers a way to be notified of your BagID 2´s location when it is not with you or lost. This feature can only be activated when your BagID 2 is not detected in your device's Bluetooth range. 

"Lost mode"
Is used when you have really lost your item and you want to share your contact information and a message with whoever finds it in order to have it returned to you. 


How accurate is the tracking?

The BagID 2 for Samsung has the same tracking functionality as the Samsung SmartTag. So the information from Samsung about how to use SmartThings Find also applies to BagID 2 for Samsung.

The BagID 2 for Samsung detects its location based on other Samsung device in the area, and then sends that information to your phone. The device relies on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), the BagID 2 for Samsung can only communicate with your phone if it is within the Bluetooth range of around 120 m. However, if your BagID 2 for Samsung is out of that range, you still can locate it offline using SmartThings Find.

Does BagID 2 for Samsung work with other Android phones?

The tracking functionality on BagID 2 for Samsung is only available on Samsung Galaxy phones.

All other BagID functions work with both Samsung Galaxy and other Android phones running Android 10 or later.

How to locate your BagID 2 for Samsung using SmartThings Find?

If you can't find your BagID 2 for Samsung, there are few ways that you can locate it using the SmartThings app:

- Open the SmartThings app on your Samsung Galaxy phone and go to connected device.

- Choose your device you want to locate

-Tap Go to map. If your BagID 2 for Samsung can be detected, the approximate location will be shown.

If you are still unable to find your SmartTag, there are a few options that you can use to help.

  • Search nearby: once you tap Search nearby, your phone will start searching for your device. Once found, you will be shown the strength of the device's signal. The green area will get bigger the closer you are to the BagID 2 for Samsung's device as the signal will get stronger.
  • Navigate: if your device appears on the map but you are unsure how to reach it, tap Navigate. This will show your device location on Google Maps so that you can navigate to it using GPS.
  • Ring: tap the Ring button to make the BagID 2 for Samsung ring. Your device will ring continuously until you tap Stop. This helps you to find your device if you know it's close but need a little extra help. You can increase the ring volume of your device by selecting it in the SmartThings app. You can choose between low, medium, and high volumes.
How do I pair BagID 2 for Samsung to the SmartThings Find?

To pair the BagID 2 for Samsung to the SmartThings Find click on the right button on your device to activate SmartThings Find and follow the guide.

Can I pair my BagID 2 for Samsung to more than one Samsung Galaxy phone?

Unfortunately not! BagID 2 for Samsung can only be paired to one Samsung Galaxy phone. However, you can share location information about your tag with other Samsung Galaxy phones.  

Enable and disable SmartThings Find functionality

To enable the SmartThings Find functionality, click the right button once or twice.

You will hear a beep to confirm that the SmartThings Find has been enabled.

If the BagID is not paired in the SamsungSmartThings Find mobile app within 5 minutes, the SmartThings Find functionality will be automatically be disabled, and three beeps will be heard.

SmartThings Find factory reset

Click the left button three times, then when the LED blink red(fast blink), hold down the right button for until the red light is off.

This will reboot the device and you will hear a characteristic SmartThings Find factory reset and few seconds later you will also see a confirmation message on the screen that SmartThings Find factory reset has been completed.

How does airline check-in work?

BagID is integrated with all partner airlines, and checking in baggage works as BagID connects to the airlines systems and fetches information on both the flight and baggage tags.

BagID also fetches information for example on flight times, delays, gates and baggage arrival carousels, and send updates during your journey so that you stay updated on the most up to date changes.

This service are subject to subscription.

As a tracking device, BagID can be used with all airlines, en route or outside of airports, worldwid without subscription.

Which airlines is supported to check-in with?

When it comes to checking in baggage with airlines, it is primarily Norwegian airlines and Widerøe who offer these solutions today.

It is expected that more airlines from Scandinavia, Europe, USA and Asia will also support the use of BagID.

When can I check-in my luggage on the BagID app?

Luggage check-in will only be available once you have checked in with the airlines.

Depending on the airline, you can check-in your luggage from the BagID app 24-48 hours prior to your flight. Please note that this may vary by airline.

Where do I drop off my baggage at the airport?

Your baggage can be taken straight to Bag Drop! This is usually clearly visible at all airports and is often the first thing you see upon arrival. If you cannot locate the Bag Drop area, contact the information desk at the airport.

How do I check in my luggage?

When you’ve added your travel itinerary into the BagID app and have transferred baggage information to your BagID device, your luggage is ready to be checked in. You can then take your baggage straight to Bag Drop.

Note: You need to be checked-in with the airline before you can check-in your luggage on the BagID.

The baggage drop process can vary between airlines. Follow the instructions from your airline’s baggage and check in areas.

How do I weigh my luggage?

Your luggage is automatically weighed on the carousel at bag drop, before it is accepted and moved into the plane’s cargo hold.

If your baggage is too heavy, you will be asked to contact airline personnel for assistance.

Is the “PRIORITY” label visible on my BagID?

Should you have “PRIORITY” status, this will be visible on your BagID device.

How does transfer of baggage Information to BagID work?

Your baggage information transfers from the BagID App to BagID via Bluetooth.

When you check in your baggage via the app, you’ll receive a message that the information is ready to be transferred. Follow the instructions for connection within the app and the information will be transferred to your BagID.

Is the BagID devices approved by IATA?

Yes. We follow the official IATA EBT implementation guide. That means that our products are flight safe and can be used all over the world.

Can I use multiple BagID devices on the same booking?

Yes, you can use as many BagID devices as you have baggage allowance for.

Does it work with connecting flights?

Yes, BagID works with connecting flights as a paper bag tag would do.

Is BagID compatible with FAA regulations?

Yes, the BagID is designed after IATAs EBT implementation guide and FAAs regulations surrounding li-ion batteries. The BagID have a battery under 2,66Wh which is within the limits.

For the BagID GO which contains mobile cellular communication this module is turned off by two independent means (sensors and SW).

How does the permanent mounting plate/attachment plate work?

BagID attaches to your luggage with its recommened attachment casing in leather or vegan leather, but can also be mounted with the mounting plate for a more secure finish. It can be used on both hard suitcases and soft baggage.

Four pins stick through the mounting plate and baggage, and secure with magnetic functionality on the inside of the luggage. (The same functionality which is used for clothing theft alarms in clothing boutiques). It fastened securely and well, and a special magnet remover is used to remove the plate.

It takes a few seconds to click the BagID into the mounting plate on your luggage.

To loosen the BagID, the baggage needs to be opened. This significantly reduces the chance of theft.

If you plan on using BagID on multiple items of luggage, you will need multiple mounting plates or a mounting case. Add additional casings if you desire to share the unit within your family.

The mounting plate is difficult to remove from baggage, so take care in attaching it to the luggage which you intend on using most for travel.

Will there be more supported airlines?

Of course there will be more!

We are currently talking to some of the largest airlines in the world and hope to bring you good news on several occasions this year.

In addition, we are soon launching a digital bag tag option for airlines that is not among BagID's supported airlines yet.


Do I need a subscription?

Some services in the BagID app are subject to subscription.

Can I use BagID without subscription?

Yes, you can use the tracking function and name tag function for free without subscription.

Does the premium subscription come with a trial period?

Yes, it comes with 30 day free trial period.

Do I need a separate subscription for each BagID device?

No, you only need one subscription. You can use it on as many BagID devices as you want.

What is Premium Family subscription?

Premium Family is a yearly discounted subscription that can be used by up to 5 family members that live together.

- Each member will have their own account and will not see the other members information

- Only one person needs to purchase the subscription and they can add and remove members in the BagID app

Please note it can take up to 24h to add in new members to your family subscription.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

You can go to our subscription page and choose manage it there to manage your subscription.

What is Premium - Pay-per-use?

Pay-per-use is not a subscription but a one-time purchase of the features included in the premium subscription. The access to the premium features will last for 24h from the purchase time.

Can I cancel pay per use?

Unfortunately, we can not refund or cancel pay per use.


How long is the delivery time?

We pack and ship orders in chronological order Monday - Friday. You will receive an email with a shipment confirmation as soon as the order has been shipped from our warehouse.

Please allow up to 2 business days for your order to be processed.

However, the delivery time may vary depending on the amount of orders to be processed.

We offer 1-3 days express shipment with DHL and regular shipment with PostNord and Posten/Bring.

Can I return my order?

For return please contact  support and inform us about the situation within 30 days after you have received your order. The product must be unused, in perfect condition and with original packaging.

The customer is responsible for covering the return cost and outgoing freight cost will be deducted from the final settlement.

Changing delivery address or cancel order

If you'd like to make a change to your order or cancel it, please contact support immediately.

Shipping address are exported from one database to another, please ensure that the address you enter is correct upon receiving order confirmation email.

 If an address error is made, please email us asap and within 5 hours of confirmation email.  Once orders are processed for shipment, no changes can be made.

Lost or damaged product

Please contact support and inform us about the situation as soon as possible and at latest 1 week after you discover the defect.

If you have placed your order through a different online seller, please contact their support team directly for replacement or refund options they offer.

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship worldwide.

All international orders (outside Norway) are shipped with DHL at a flat rate of 299,- NOK.

Where is my order shipped from? 

All of BagID orders are shipped from our warehouse in Norway

VAT and customs for orders outside Norway

Orders made outside Norway may be subject to import VAT, customs duty and fees, which are levied once your package reaches your country (refering to local custom policy).

We cannot predict what your individual charges may be.

For more information, contact your local customs office.

If you refuse your package, the package will be returned to us. We will then charge you a shipping/handling, return, and administrative fees, which will be deducted from your refund.

What happens if I don't collect or refuse my package?

If you change your mind after the package has been sent from us, you must collect it and return it.
